Market research study towards the development of a net-zero community
Overview
s2eTechnologies Inc. develops utility-scale solar projects and consults in the development of sustainable communities. s2e was conducting a market feasibility study to pitch a real estate developer on the development of a sustainable community in the London, ON, area.
Execution
s2e asked me to help drive recruitment for their market research activities. I was also responsible for conducting observational and active qualitative research (world cafe-style discussion forums and video interviews) and using the data to write and edit a market research report. I developed a comprehensive social media outreach strategy and digital media content in order to recruit participants to the market research activities. I also produced a 100+ page market research report demonstrating the human desirability of the community and providing insight on the target segment.
Results
The outreach strategy (Twitter, YouTube and LinkedIn) resulted in an engagement rate of nearly 100% and helped triple the project’s minimum data requirements. Through presenting the report findings to an audience of over 200 stakeholders and leading an execution workshop, I helped establish a partnership between s2e Technologies Inc. and Sifton Properties that has led to the development of the West5 net-zero community.
